Barun Girl celebrates the heritage and bonds of three women connected to Japan. Each bottle captures the essence of Japanese monuments, festival flavors, and refreshing spring scents. Inspired by their childhoods, the founders source ingredients reflecting their regions. The wines evoke memories of sun-kissed fields and lively festivals, bridging tradition with modern winemaking. Every individual bottle tells a story of love and friendship, inviting you to savor Japan's beautiful essence while embracing future experiences.
designing to capture memory in a bottle
When designing the labels for Barun Girl, I adopted a ground-up approach. For the logotype, we selected a font that evokes the feeling of being etched in wood, lending a rustic yet refined character to the brand. The label artworks feature an illustration of a girl holding a balloon, drawing inspiration from the unique connection shared by three women who wore strikingly similar clothing while each holding a balloon in photos of thier childhood. This coincidence ultimately contributed to the brand's name.
The illustration incorporates gold flake to introduce environmental detail, harmonizing with a gradient-saturated world. This technique enhances the depth and richness of the design, reflecting both elegance and a sense of whimsy. The overall result is a cohesive and visually captivating representation of Barun Girl, encapsulating its essence through every element of the label.

Their memories of hometown colors inspired the designs. I created gradients that reflect these experiences, each telling a story of their regions.
